I like to take new or clean used blankets for dogs in winter to donate. Even fresh canned or bags of fresh dog food.

The shelter is very clean and organized. I stopped by with my family to pick up a baby tortoise, and although we couldn’t take him home due to his size (which we didn’t know at the time), the staff was very nice and they made sure to properly explain the adoption process for these babies.

El trabajo que realizan es realmente admirable lo hacen con cuidado, delicadeza, demostrando capacitación en favor de los animalitos.
Las instalaciones son amplias se observa limpieza, el color elegido de las paredes es mi favorito.

My husband and I adopted our sweet boy Iago from NCAS a year and a half ago. We couldn’t wait to take him home with us. Iago was still in tact when he was surrendered to the shelter but the staff took excellent care of him, the adoption paperwork went smooth, and they even gave us a donated carrier to take him home in. We love Iago and couldn’t imagine our lives without him!

Tried to adopt a guinea pig for my lone male guinea pig, but they said it was already bonded with a cage mate. Male guinea pigs have basically a 20% chance of bonding with another male as it's not common in the wild. So 3 together is not recommended. They will likely not get along fighting for domnance. I appreciate them taking the guinea pigs friend, his bonded cage mate, into consideration and doing what is best for him. Great job!

This is a horrible place ..
we came this past weekend 10/09/2024
We came looking for a dog at first and we found a cute Amazon parrot I have 5 birds of my own and we’ll taken care of
I was really interested in the bird as I wanted to give him a happy home
They tolled me he will be available on the 8th
We showed up @3:00 am since they said u have to be here really early or else it will be gone 8:00came and said not available until tomorrow no excuses
We came back the next day at 3:00 am again and suddenly he was not for adoption yet
Instead they decided to do an auction for the bird since it was an exotic animal
THAT IS NO FAIR
The asked for a 255 starting bid +17 adoption fee and plus what you had to offer for the bird
When did it become a business
For the person who gives most gets to take it home
I’m not rich
But I have a good heart
I hope he has a happy home
Because obviously you guys don’t care

While technically "allowed" to hold an auction for an animal at a shelter in most places, it is generally not considered ethical practice due to concerns about potential animal exploitation and the perception of animals as commodities, with many animal welfare organizations strongly advising against it; most shelters would instead focus on traditional adoption methods and fundraising events that don't involve auctioning animals

I adopted a sweet and adventurous surrendered cat (whom I've named Zuko, pictured below) from their shelter. Although, I can't take him home (until after his neuter surgery, which very much makes sense), they've let me come and visit him every day.

The staff are so kind, patient, and caring and they let adopters pick through the donations. I can't recommend this shelter enough; volunteers are so incredibly passionate about the care of the animals they're helping but also of the adopters. This is also the nicest facility I've ever been to. I definitely will adopt from here again!
